Richard Colby began New Berlin Taxidermy in 1970 and
is continually refining and developing the art and science of taxidermy.
After working as a naturalist for Waukesha County
in Wisconsin during the 1960's, Richard's love and appreciation for
the beauty and grace of all wild creatures inspired him to begin New
Berlin Taxidermy.
Many of the techniques he still uses today were developed
at the studio.
While white-tail deer shoulder mounts are the specialty
of New Berlin Taxidermy, he has worked with specimens from all over
the world. To see some examples of past mounts, please visit our display
room.
In response to the increased popularity of catch and
release fishing, Fish Replication is available.
Finding himself unsatisfied with the results of commercially available
paints for fish, Richard developed his own air-brush fish paints unique
to the freshwater fish of the Upper Midwest.
Our current price list is available
